The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced that it has distributed 300 emergency “grab-and-go” bags to residents of Barangay Buayang Bato in Mandaluyong City recently.
In a statement, the PCSO said that the bags contain essential items for use during disasters or emergencies and Barangay Buayang Bato’s proximity to the Pasig River makes the go-bags particularly useful during severe flooding caused by heavy rains, officials said.
Barangay official Ralph Ronald Nobela expressed gratitude to the PCSO for the donation.
“This is a significant step towards creating a safer and more prepared community to face challenges. These go-bags are expected to be beneficial to the residents and provide security during calamities,” Nobela said.
The distribution is part of the PCSO’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, which aims to assist those in need and promote community well-being nationwide.
In other developments, the PCSO sponsored the 3-Year-Old Maiden Stakes Race held at Metro Turf in Malvar, Batangas last 23 February 2025.
Jockey JT Pabilic rode Horse #9 “Natasha” to victory in the 1,400-meter race. The horse is owned by Jun Sevilla and trained by Jacob JMP.
Officials said that the PCSO’s sponsorship demonstrates its commitment to supporting various sports in the Philippines.
The PCSO and the Philippine Racing Commission plan to continue collaborating to develop the horse racing industry in the country.
