
A search is in progress for a missing person after a boat carrying six people capsized off the New York coast on Sunday, leaving three dead and two others hospitalized, according to Fox News.
The US Coast Guard, along with the New York City police and fire departments, is conducting recovery efforts for the missing boater.
Three rescue boats and an MH-65 helicopter were deployed to assist ongoing rescue operations led by Sandy Hook Pilots and the NYPD Aviation Unit.
Rescuers recovered five people, with two airlifted to Staten Island University Hospital, while three others were transported to Coast Guard Station Sandy Hook. Despite CPR being administered, four of the victims were unresponsive.
As of early Monday, officials confirmed that three people have died, one remains in critical condition, another is in stable condition, and one person is still missing in the water.
The identities of the boaters have not yet been released, but authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
