Two wanted individuals involved in illegal drugs were arrested by members of the Northern Police District (NPD) last Saturday.
According to the NPD, the suspects, identified as alias “Analyn” and alias “Marlyn,” were arrested along Road 10 in Barangay NBBN. Analyn was apprehended first, while Marlyn was arrested just a few blocks away.
Police Master Sergeant Paul Colasito of the Northern Police District - District Special Operations Unit (NPD-DSOU) confirmed that both suspects were arrested based on a warrant issued by Judge Maria Bernadita Santos of Branch 35 of the Manila Regional Trial Court.
“Under the judicial court, any officers of the law can carry out the warrant, no matter what city or area issued the warrant,” Colasito explained when asked why the NPD executed a warrant from the Manila RTC.
Analyn and Marlyn were both charged with violating Paragraph 3, Section 11, Article 2 of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Another suspect remains at large.
The arrest warrant was issued on 22 December 2014, with a recommended bail set at P120,000.
“Allegedly, the accused were involved in selling illegal drugs back then,” the police said.
Colasito added that the suspects were considered among the most wanted individuals at the district level.
"When we served them the warrant, they were outside and willingly went with us." he noted.
The two female suspects are currently detained at the custodial facility of the Northern Police District.
