The much anticipated launch of the Pasig Bigyang Buhay Muli Phase III project was postponed to a later date due to inclement weather. The newest addition to the Pasig River Esplanade was supposed to be unveiled on Monday, 17 February.

According to Deputy Social Secretary Dina Arroyo-Tantoco, the postponement was made for the safety and comfort of the public who wish to take in the scenic view that Intramuros and the Pasig River have to offer.

The launch has been reset to 27 February.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to seeing you on the new date,” Tantoco said in a statement.

Phase 3 of the project features a 305-meter Fort Santiago Riverwalk connecting the historic citadel of Fort Santiago and the revitalized Pasig River Esplanade.

The project is a priority of the administration led by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.

The initiative was developed by the Inter-Agency Council for the Pasig River Urban Development through Executive Order 35 under the leadership of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar.

With this, the informal settlers along the Pasig River were relocated, heritage sites were preserved, and sustainable economic opportunities arose.

Once completed, the Pasig River Esplanade will showcase a 25-kilometer path following the Pasig River and traversing the cities of Manila, Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasig and Taguig.
