VIGAN, Ilocos Sur — Already rated in the world, Ar-Ar Andales takes on a dangerous rival Wednesday as he meets Reymark Alicaba for the interim Philippine Boxing Federation flyweight crown at the San Vicente Municipal Gym across town from this Unesco World Heritage locale.

Andales, who represents Quibors-SanMan Boxing, tipped in at 111.1 lbs during Tuesday’s official weighin held before high-ranking local officials of the city and province.

Alicaba, the pride and joy of Highland Boxing Gym of Davao City, also came in at 111.1.

Presented by Manny Pacquiao’s Blow-By-Blow, the slugfest promises to give Ilocano fight fans a treat, the same way it did when the TV show put up a card in Narvacan about two years ago.

Andales, ranked No. 13 by the International Boxing Federation, packs a 16-2-3 win-loss-draw card with six knockouts.

Alicaba, meanwhile, holds a 9-5-0 slate with seven knockouts.

Blow-By-Blow, the same program that produced Pacquiao in the 1990s, has also held shows in Cavite, Surigao, General Santos City, Mindoro and Iloilo as well as in various Metro Manila cities apart from doing a world title fight last year.
