The energy was electric, the drums were pounding, and the excitement was undeniable — Kaunlad Pinoy officially launched its campaign in Sta. Ana, Manila, on Tuesday, 11 February, marking the start of a journey filled with hope, hard work, and commitment to every Filipino.

As early as 6 AM, the streets of Barangay 899, Zone 100 were already bustling. Supporters gathered, vendors prepared their stalls, and the Kaunlad Pinoy team, led by their first nominee Kuya Choi, took to the streets to connect with the people who make this community thrive.

For Kuya Choi and the Kaunlad Pinoy team, Sta. Ana is more than just a campaign stop — it holds a special place in their journey.

“Ito yung isa sa mga pinakaunang lugar na ginagalawan at tinutulungan namin,” Kuya Choi shared in an interview with DAILY TRIBUNE. “Masipag yung mga tao dito, very business-minded tapos marami silang ideas sa iba’t ibang klase ng negosyo.”

(This is one of the first areas that we have operated in and assisted. The people here are hardworking, business-minded, and filled with ideas about different kinds of businesses.)

As part of their long-standing commitment to uplifting small businesses, Kuya Choi personally visited the Sta. Ana public market, meeting vendors, shaking hands, and distributing aprons to local entrepreneurs. These simple yet meaningful gestures underscored Kaunlad Pinoy’s mission — to support every hardworking Filipino striving to build a better future.

Faith and community: The core of Kaunlad Pinoy

After spending the morning engaging with the people of Sta. Ana, the team made their way to the Ina ng Laging Saklolo Church in Cardinal Sin Village to hear Mass and offer prayers for the campaign ahead.

“Pinili naming agahan para makapagsimba at simulan ang araw na ito kasama ang Panginoon at magpasalamat,” Kuya Choi explained.

(We wanted to do this early so we could hear mass, start the day in the presence of the Lord, and give thanks.)

Faith has always been at the core of Kaunlad Pinoy’s advocacy, believing that success is not just built on hard work but also on gratitude and a strong moral foundation.

The rally wasn’t just about speeches and promises — it was a full-blown celebration of resilience, entrepreneurship, and community. As the team returned to the heart of Barangay 899, the beat of drums filled the air, setting the tone for a festive gathering.

Supporters enjoyed meals from stalls provided by NegoNation Kaunlad Pinoy, further reinforcing the importance of micro and small businesses in nation-building.

Throughout the day, Kaunlad Pinoy continued its mission of engaging directly with the people, listening to their concerns, and sharing their vision for a future where every Filipino entrepreneur has access to opportunities that lead to success.

The Journey has just begun

The Sta. Ana rally is just the beginning of Kaunlad Pinoy’s campaign trail, but it perfectly encapsulates what they stand for — grassroots connection, unwavering support for small businesses, and a genuine desire to make a difference.

With Kaunlad Pinoy 133 on the ballot, the movement is ready to bring economic empowerment to every corner of the country. And if today’s energy is any indication of what’s to come, this campaign season is bound to be one for the books.
