Executives of Tzu Chi Philippines received a warm welcome from the DAILY TRIBUNE family during their visit to the media company’s Makati City office yesterday.
Tzu Chi Philippines Chief Executive Officer Alfredo Li engaged in a lighthearted and meaningful discussion with the TRIBUNE editorial team.
As he entered the building, Li jokingly asked the TRIBUNE team if they had concerns with their eyesight, noting the numerous computer monitors and televisions across the editorial floor.
Li was accompanied by Dr. Edith Navarro, Medical Director of the Tzu Chi Eye Center, and Dr. Susan Irene Lapid-Lim, Deputy Medical Director of the same center that provides free eye care and procedures for those in need.
In 2023, the Tzu Chi Eye Center served 20,233 patients, performed 2,941 surgeries, distributed 14,708 eye drop medications, provided 392 pairs of prescription eyeglasses, conducted 375 diagnostic procedures, and led 11 medical outreach activities along with 2,578 outreach services.
DAILY TRIBUNE has been a proud partner of the Tzu Chi Eye Center in restoring vision to those struggling with impaired eyesight, including Persons Deprived of Liberty.
