Fernando Tizon scored the first hole-in-one at the 37th Mango Tee Invitational on Monday, calling his achievement a “grace from heaven.”

“I feel like I’m on cloud nine right now!” said Tizon, who used a driver on the eighth hole at the Alabang Country Club.

“Words can’t describe how happy I am.”

For his remarkable feat, Tizon received a P100,000 Casino Filipino free bet certificate, an Asia Traders Corp. Honma Iron (valued at P103,600), 3 Strokes merchandise worth P100,000, and Funky Monkey GCs valued at P50,000.

As Day 3 wrapped up, the first batch of participants had completed two rounds, setting the scores to beat for the remaining five days of the competition.

John Baron Garcia and David Serdenia led the overall gross division with 143, holding an 11-point advantage over Jerome Hernandez and Masaichi Otake.

In the overall net category, two teams — Miguel Villafuerte-Francis Francisco and Arbie Jacinto-Ramil Gutierrez — were tied for the lead with 160 points.

Jacinto and Gutierrez led the Platinum division, while Villafuerte and Francisco topped the Gold division. Nilo Cruz and Alex Bisuna led the Silver, and Rafael Garcia-Enrique Camacho were in front in the Bronze division.
