The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Arca South Integrated Terminals, Inc. of Ayala Land Inc. broke ground on Monday for the Taguig City Integrated Terminal Exchange (TCITX), a new multi-modal hub designed to ease traffic congestion in southern Metro Manila.
Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista said the TCITX will streamline travel between Metro Manila, Laguna, and Batangas, improving interconnectivity across transport modes.
"This project will be instrumental in decongesting major thoroughfares and offering a smoother journey for the riding public," Sec. Bautista explained. "We eagerly anticipate its completion and operational launch in the first quarter of 2027.”
A public-private partnership project, the 5.57-hectare terminal will handle up to 160,000 passengers and 5,200 vehicles daily. It will feature modern amenities, including passenger terminals, arrival and departure bays, public information systems, ticketing, baggage handling, and park-and-ride facilities.
The TCITX will also connect to key infrastructure such as the Southeast Metro Manila Expressway (SEMME), the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR), and the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP), enhancing accessibility for commuters.
