In celebration of National Arts Month and Maryknoll College High School class of 1975's 50th Golden Jubilee, the Expressions Art Exhibit officially opens at the Henry Sy Sr. Innovation Center, Miriam College.

Running from 1 to 7 February, the event highlights Filipino artistry and fosters a deeper appreciation for creative expression.

National Arts Month, observed every February in the Philippines, is dedicated to showcasing and promoting local artistic talent while providing platforms for artists to gain wider recognition.

The Expressions Art Exhibit embodies this mission by featuring 40 stunning artworks, 27 of which were crafted by members of Maryknoll High School Batch 1975. The participating MCHS artists include Celine Ceil-Enriquez, Gee V. Farrales, Celine Ongpin-Menes, Nancy Chichioco-Razon, Doya Lapuos-Varela, Chona Sarmenta-Quizon, Abelle Rola-Carlos, and Maricor Alvarez-Acenas.

The exhibit also features the works of drybrush Gallery artists Iwag Palattao and Lito Milan, who bring a diverse range of styles and mediums — from acrylic paintings to digital photography — expanding the creative dialogue within the showcase.

Beyond celebrating artistry, the exhibit serves a greater purpose. All proceeds from the sale of artworks will support the Miriam College Skills Development and Technical Education Center (SDTEC), funding scholarships for 50 students by September 2025, coinciding with the high school golden homecoming of Batch ’75.

"Whatever proceeds we get from the sale of these artworks, we will donate to the SDTEC of Maryknoll College so that we can fulfill our goal of putting 50 scholars through school by September of this year," said Gia Alvarez-Binamira, head of the art exhibit committee.

The exhibit’s name, "Expressions," was chosen to reflect the essence of artistic creation. "We named it Expressions because we want to showcase how an artist can express themselves through art," Binamira explained.

This exhibition goes beyond aesthetics — capturing the true spirit of National Arts Month by celebrating creativity, fostering artistic expression, and extending generosity through art.
