Beauty pageants serve as a vital platform for contestants not only to display their talents but also to champion important social issues and inspire others in their communities.
While many may focus on the crowns and sashes awarded at these events, the true essence of pageantry goes much deeper.
This year’s Ms. Cebu 2025, themed “Embodying the Heartbeat of the City” showcased 12 candidates who competed for the title, culminating in a vibrant event that emphasized a deep connection to Cebu’s culture and sustainability.
The pageant held at the Grand Ballroom of the Cebu Waterfront Hotel and Casino, showcased the candidate’s advocacy for their city’s heritage and environmental conservation.
The distinguished judges were Christopher Hope, legal luminary from Canada; Joy Saberon from the Filipino community in Vegas; Jhanena Chan, celebrity host, blogger Chinoy TV host and TV star; Ditta Sandico, designer of Filipino wear advocate known for her abaca woven creations and Taipan Lucero Baybayin, calligraphy artist who has exhibited internationally.
Christine Escanilla, candidate number six, emerged victorious with Angela Aumonier as first runner-up, Maijezel Sarcol, second runner-up, Tatiana Shantal Benedetti, third runner-up and Kiara Liane Wellingtion, fourth runner-up.
The competition included notable awards with Miss Photogenic awarded to Angela Magienda Aumonier, Miss Waterfront Smile to Kiara Liane Wellington, and Best in Evening Gown to Christine Escanilla representing fashion designer Valerie Alvez.
The event continues to prioritize inner beauty over physical appearance, reflecting a modern perspective on beauty pageants while maintaining traditional values.
