The Zamboanga Valientes lost their second straight game in the 34th Dubai International Basketball Championship after a 84-107 defeat against Al Ahli Tripoli of Libya early Monday (Manila time) at the Al Nasr Club.
The Valientes held a 36-19 lead when a jumper from Wajdi Dawo with 7:22 left in the second quarter kickstarted a 24-0 run for Al Ahli and remained in front for the rest of the game.
Mohamed Sadi led Al Ahli with 25 points, six rebounds, and three assists while Wuat Alok had a double-double game of 24 points and 11 rebounds.
Sam Deguara led Zamboanga with 25 points and eight rebounds while Adonis Thomas had 24 points, four rebounds, and three assists.
Zamboang will face Sagesse SC of Lebanon on Wednesday at 1 a.m. (Manila time) at the same venue.
