The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said it completed on Saturday, 25 January, its mock elections done in select areas across the country.
The poll body conducted mock elections in 15 cities and municipalities, including areas in Mindanao, on Saturday, all of which started promptly at 7:00 AM and ended at 10:00 AM.
In an interview, Comelec Chairperson George Garcia reported that the poll body tallied a 100 percent transmission rate from precincts to municipal/ city canvassing centers, Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting and National Citizens' Movement for Free Elections servers, media server, majority, and minority political party serves, as well as central and back up servers.
Garcia said during the mock elections, they checked the performance of each machine — their time and motion as well as how fast voters could finish shading each ballot.
"Tinitingnan natin yung mga performance ng makina, yung time and motion tinitingnan din natin kung isandaan ganoon kabilis matatapos, anong reaksyon ng balota, nag-smudge ba or nire-recognize pa rin ng makina (We looked at the performance of the machine, the time and motion. We also looked at whether the hundred voters will finish quickly, what the reaction of the ballots, were they smudged, were they read by the machines)," he continued.
"Ito pong lahat ng ito ay bilang parte ng trusted build kung talagang gumagana ang machine at the same time integrated ba yung sistema, yung machine, yung transmission ng results at tsaka yung overseas voting system (All this is part of the trusted build to check if the machines really work and at the same time to check if the system is already integrated, as well as to check the transmission results and also the overseas voting system)," he added.
The poll body also conducted online voting in Singapore.
Over 68 million voters are expected to vote on 12 May to form the Senate, all the way down to their respective city or municipal councils.
