A man listed as one of the “top 5 most wanted persons” in Pasig City was arrested by authorities in a manhunt operation in Barangay Pinagbuhatan on Saturday afternoon.
The 44-year-old suspect, identified only as alias Peter, a call center agent and a resident of San Miguel Subdivision, Marulas, Valenzuela City, is facing charges for carnapping.
“Peter” was arrested along Caliwag Street, Barangay Pinagbuhatan, by virtue of a warrant of arrest.
The warrant was issued by the judge of Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 161 for carnapping, with bail set at P300,000.
Prior to the arrest, operatives conducted surveillance on the same day and obtained information through intelligence efforts regarding the location of the suspect.
The issuance of the arrest warrant stemmed from the failure of the accused to return a motorcycle he had borrowed, and he could not be located despite several demand letters.
The arrested suspect is temporarily held in the custodial facility of Pasig City Police Station while awaiting the commitment order from the issuing court. He will be charged under the New Anti-Carnapping Law of 2016.
