Pilar, Bataan — The local government here announced that it is set to open its new Pamilihang Bayan ng Pilar on 3 February 2025.
According to Pilar Mayor Charlie Pizarro, the 3,135.10-square-meter market will provide a safer and more organized space for vendors and consumers.
The new market will feature 151 stalls, including 48 for fresh fish, 36 for meat, 16 for vegetables, eight for dried goods, eight for fruits, 20 for groceries, eight for consignation and seven for food court vendors.
“The organized layout ensures a seamless shopping experience for residents,” Pizarro said.
The market will include a CCTV system, restrooms for men, women, and people with disabilities, and a large parking lot.
“We already have installed a system for maintaining hygiene and proper waste management to ensure that cleanliness and orderliness will be a top priority for the new Pamilihang Bayan ng Pilar,” Pizarro said.
The new market is expected to create more opportunities for local entrepreneurs and enhance the quality of life for residents of Pilar, a fishing town in eastern Bataan.
