The Philippine General Hospital (PGH) reiterated on Monday its warning against a Facebook page using its name to promote an unregistered liver disease medicine.
This follows after a certain Facebook page, PGH-Philippine General Hospital News, which is claiming to be related to the state-run hospital, posted a fabricated article about “Maria,” 55, a PGH nurse who allegedly cured her liver disease at home.
“Maria” claimed that she found a “specially formulated milk that helps support liver function” while she was researching information about her disease.
The milk is sold at P1,600 for a can, P3,200 for three cans, P4,800 for five cans and P9,400 for 10 cans. The state-run institution reiterated that it does not endorse any medicine or medical equipment.
“Our services are focused solely on providing medical attention that can be accessed through telemedicine and on-site consultations,” PGH said in an advisory.
