Families in Navotas City received 5 kilograms of rice assistance from the local government as part of the city’s founding anniversary celebration. The rice distribution began Friday and will continue through 28 January.
According to the Navotas City Public Information Office, at least 7,050 registered families from the Bangkulasi, Bagumbayan South, Bagumbayan North, Navotas East and Navotas West barangays have received the rice assistance.
Residents from NBBS Proper and San Jose will receive the rice assistance today and tomorrow.
Families not yet registered under NavoRehistro, the city’s citizen registration program, will still receive rice assistance. A local verification team will assist in registering unregistered Navotas families.
Under the P29 Rice Program, families with senior citizens, people with disabilities, solo parents, and those registered in the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) can purchase rice for P29 per kilogram.
“Bring an ID that proves your sector. A representative can also make the purchase. Just bring the beneficiary’s ID, the representative’s ID, and an authorization letter,” the city’s advisory reads.
Kadiwa stores within the city also sell rice for P40 per kilogram.
