Razon-led Manila Water has expanded its water network to 5,542.17 kilometers, improving service for more than 7.7 million customers in the East Zone of Metro Manila and Rizal.
In a report on Friday, the East zone water concessionaire said it built over 96 kilometers of pipelines between November 2023 and November 2024, supporting distribution from new water sources like the East Bay Water Supply System Phase 1, Calawis Water Treatment Plant and Cardona Treatment Plant.
“Our new water sources need a strong distribution network to ensure customers get the service they deserve,” Manila Water Communication Affairs Group director Jeric Sevilla said.
Additionally, Manila Water has laid 13.33 kilometers of new sewer lines from January to November 2024, bringing its total sewer network to 482.31 kilometers.
The lines connect 307,492 households to sewage treatment plants, ensuring wastewater is properly processed before being released into waterways.
