Meghan Markle rang in the new year by returning to Instagram on the first day of 2025.
The Duchess of Sussex shared a rare glimpse into her personal life with a brief yet heartfelt 3-second video, where she is seen running along the beach near her Montecito, California home, dressed in a long white linen shirt and matching pants, as she writes “2025” in the sand.
The footage was reportedly captured by Prince Harry, according to People magazine.
Markle, 43, had been absent from the platform since 2020, around the time she and Prince Harry stepped back from their senior royal roles.
Her new post marks her return to the platform after more than two years. In a 2022 interview with The Cut, Meghan hinted at the possibility of coming back: “Do you want to know a secret? I’m getting back… on Instagram.” However, she later admitted she was uncertain about her return.
Before marrying Prince Harry in 2018, Meghan had a robust social media presence, including an Instagram account with 3 million followers and her lifestyle blog, The Tig. Both were shut down in 2017 ahead of her engagement to the prince.
