Philippine boxing’s opening salvo for 2025 features an Orient-Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) flyweight title match on 18 January at Tokyo’s Korakuen Hall.
Unbeaten Lorenz “Shotgun” Dumam-ag of Zamboanga del Norte has been penciled to face Jukiya Limura of Japan for the vacant OPBF 112-lb throne.
Both combatants are coming off resounding victories and their matchup oozes with excitement given their styles.
The southpaw Dumam-ag, who boasts of a 10-0 win-loss card with seven knockouts, beat Ramel Macado via a first-round knockout in Mandaue, Cebu, last May.
Limura is also on a hot win streak and his most recent was a win over Tetsuya Mimura after losing to Filipino Esneth Domingo five fights back.
Dumam-ag is one of many fast-rising Filipino fighters being groomed for bigger things in the coming year.
