Undefeated Vencent Lacar of Surigao del Norte gave Chinese Olympian Bin Lu a neat boxing lesson Saturday night in Haikou, China.

Despite only having eight professional fights going into the fight, Lacar, who didn’t have any amateur experience, conducted a master class en route to snatching the World Boxing Council Far East and World Boxing Organization Oriental flyweight titles via split decision.

The scorecards read: 96-94 (Lacar), 97-93 (Lacar) and 96-94 (Lu).

The stunning win came with a nice prize.

“It was a really good performance. Bin Lu was way more experienced, very technical but Vencent stayed focused the entire 10 rounds, used his jab, range and distance really well,” said Vietnam-based promoter Robert Hill of VSP Promotions, who was at ringside.

“His work rate was great.”

The victory boosted Lacar’s win-loss mark to 9-0 with four stoppages.

Lacar, who only turned pro a little over two years ago, was clearly the underdog on paper against the southpaw Lu, who saw his record sink to 4-2.

The Chinese had challenged unsuccessfully to win the World Boxing Association light-fly crown in 2018 in Malaysia.

Before embarking on a pro career, Lu won gold in the 2012 Youth Olympics in Armenia and represented China in the 2016 Rio Olympics where he went as far as the round-of-16.
