BINI conquers: Six reasons why 2024 was their year

BINI, dubbed the “Nation’s Girl Group,” has captured the hearts of fans with their talent and charm. But, BINI didn't start out famous. Their journey into the spotlight is a testament to their hard work and determination to become the biggest pop act in the Philippines.
From performing in small venues to headlining major events and representing the nation on the international stage, BINI's journey has not been easy. Formed under ABS-CBN’s Star Hunt Academy in 2019, the group underwent rigorous training in singing and dancing and was coached on personal growth and development.
Composed of Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena, the group made their pre-debut in 2020 with “Da Coconut Nut,” a song that showcased their playful energy and youthful vibe.
BINI officially debuted in June 2021 with their single “Born to Win,” signaling their arrival as empowered, confident performers. As rookies, the group wasn’t afraid to put in the hard work, even walking the streets and handing out flyers to promote themselves locally.
Three years later, BINI has achieved milestones in the world of P-pop that no one had seen before.
Here are six reasons why 2024 was BINI’s year — and why 2025 will be their biggest year yet:
1. BINI’s vocal and dancing skills
The group has earned a reputation for their exceptional singing and dancing skills. Whether performing ballads or upbeat tracks, their ability to harmonize and deliver powerful vocals has earned them praise, especially for their songs “Huwag Muna Tayong Umuwi” and “Karera.”
With standout choreographies, BINI has set a standard for perfectly synchronized dance moves. Fans adore them, and many of their songs have become trends and dance challenges on TikTok, especially hits like “Pantropiko,” “Salamin, Salamin,” and “Cherry on Top.”
Each member also brings their own unique stage presence, further growing their fanbase. Their ability to connect with the audience during performances speaks volumes about the kind of artists they are—confident and powerful.
2. Collaborations and Partnerships
BINI has proven to be a versatile and talented group, and their collaborations with various artists and brands have only enhanced their influence and reach.
In 2022, BINI joined forces with Agnez Mo, one of Southeast Asia’s most successful and internationally recognized artists, for a BiniMo Remix of their song “Cherry On Top,” which has amassed over 600,000 streams on Spotify.
Philippine retail brand Penshoppe welcomed BINI as the face of its “ICON” collection. The group made a stunning stage entrance during the reveal in October, with each member wearing pieces from the collection.
Additionally, BINI graced the cover of METRO’s 35th-anniversary celebration in November. Each member had their own page in the exclusive print edition, featuring not just their iconic looks but also their inspiring stories and their unwavering determination.
