The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has issued a reminder to the public, especially netizens, to prioritize reporting incidents to authorities before vlogging or filming accidents or fires.
BFP spokesperson Fire Senior Superintendent Annalee Atienza shared this message during the Bagong Pilipinas public briefing, highlighting the importance of public participation in ensuring prompt response and safety, particularly with the upcoming holiday celebrations.
Atienza stressed the significance of immediately notifying authorities to facilitate swift action and rescue of those involved in accidents.
She also mentioned that as early as the first day of December, the BFP began reminding the public about the dangers of fireworks, as well as the safe use of Christmas lights and other fire hazards.
Atienza assured that the BFP has made preparations to respond to emergencies, especially during this festive season.
The BFP hopes that everyone will exercise caution and remain safe as they welcome the New Year.
