Three Bacolod Tay Tung High School women’s volleyball stars are set to realize their dream of playing in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and, possibly, the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) after committing to join College of Saint Benilde.

Middle blocker Camila Amor Bartolome, libero Rhea Tomas and utility spiker Joenil Anne Ramos have formalized their commitment with the reigning NCAA champion recently.

Bartolome said joining the Lady Blazers is a dream come true.

“It’s a dream come true for me to play in a school like Saint Benilde, which is known for its winning tradition in the NCAA,” said Bartolome, who played a key role in Western Visayas’ title run in the Palarong Pambansa in Cebu City early this year.

“I want to be part of this team and, hopefully, reach my goal of playing in the PVL someday.”

Tomas added that he is fortunate enough to get recruited since Saint Benilde is her dream school.

“I am grateful to the Saint Benilde management for its full trust in me and for giving me an avenue to showcase my talents,” Tomas said.

“Also, Saint Benilde is my dream school, so I am very fortunate to be able to study and play there.”

Ramos, for her part, stressed that playing and studying for Saint Benilde is both an honor and a privilege for a provincial athlete like her.

“As a student and a volleyball player, I dedicate my life both in academic and sports. And given the chance to reach my dreams even more, the opportunity given to me to study in Manila, College of St. Benilde to be specific is both an honor and a privilege,” Ramos said.

Coming from the successful volleyball program of the Thunderbolts, Bartolome, Tomas and Ramos have promised to bring their winning attitude to the Lady Blazers in the NCAA women’s volleyball wars.
