The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has continued its service to the public over the holiday season as it is posting real-time passenger volume updates on its social media.
In a statement, BI commissioner Atty. Joel Anthony Viado stressed the value of proactive planning for travelers from outside, particularly during the Christmas rush.
“We are committed to ensuring a smooth and efficient travel experience for all passengers. By sharing updates on passenger volume, we hope to help travelers plan their airport arrivals and avoid unnecessary delays,” Viado said.
To reduce traffic, Viado also suggested that passengers check in at least three hours prior to their flights and go straight to immigration clearance.
“The holiday season is one of the busiest times of the year, and preparation is key,” Viado said. “Checking in early and heading straight to immigration counters can make a significant difference in reducing stress and ensuring a more relaxed journey.”
To provide real-time information about airport operations, the BI updates its official page, Facebook.com/officialbureauofimmigration, with passenger volume data. This effort has made it easier for travelers to anticipate potential crowds and adjust their arrangements accordingly.
