Youthful winger Trisha Tubu is absorbing all the lessons she gained after more than a year with Farm Fresh.
For the explosive Foxies scorer, 2024 has been a blessing as she continues to grow as a professional player in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).
“Actually, this year is a challenging one but at the same time, I’m happy to embrace the challenge. Those challenges help the team and I grow,” the opposite hitters said.
Tubu, who left Adamson University after just one season in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) to turn pro last year, has established her place as the go-to guy of Farm Fresh.
In fact, her stellar performance earned her the 2024 Reinforced Conference Best Opposite Spiker award — the first-ever Foxie to win an individual recognition.
Still, the 24-year-old hitter remains a student of the game.
“Of course, I still have a lot to improve on in my skills. Then I have to develop maturity. Just trust the process,” the Concepcion, Tarlac native said.
Tubu has been doing great in the 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference where she led Farm Fresh to a 2-4 win-loss slate.
She currently stands in fourth spot in the conference’s scoring department, averaging 21.8 points per game. Tubu also has an efficient 40.40 percent success rate in attacks just behind leader Savi Davison of PLDT (41.20 percent).
Defensively, Tubu norms with 0.39 kill blocks, 0.83 digs and 25.0 percent efficiency in reception.
Tubu even received compliments from no less than former Most Valuable Player Sisi Rondina of Choco Mucho following a five-set escape over the Foxies in their final game of the year.
“A very talented kid. She will continue to grow and improve and I know she still has lots to show. She can easily surpass what she produced in this game,”
Rondina said of Tubu, who dropped 31 points in their game.
“I’m just happy to get those kind words from Ate Sisi, who we all know is a caliber wing spiker,” Tubu responded.
Farm Fresh will open the new year against Nxled on 18 January.
“Hopefully, we’ll bring all the things we learned this year to next year. We don’t want to rest and we’ll prepare well because we have tough games ahead of us next year,” Tubu said.
