Over 3,000 residents gathered at the Rosario Complex on Saturday morning to receive financial assistance under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.
The event showcased senatorial aspirant Luis “Manong Chavit” Singson’s commitment to community service and public welfare.
TUPAD is an emergency employment program initiated by the government to support displaced, underemployed and seasonal workers.
Beneficiaries engage in short-term community service projects such as cleaning public spaces and disinfection activities.
During the payout event, participants received financial aid, providing much-needed relief to families in need.
Manong Chavit highlighted the transformative role of technology in public service delivery. He introduced VBank, a digital bank he supports, as a tool to enhance the efficiency of government aid distribution.
“VBank will make it easier for the government to serve the people. With transparency and efficiency, it eliminates the risks of corruption,” Singson explained during his speech.
The platform aims to address bureaucratic inefficiencies and ensure aid reaches beneficiaries promptly.
Singson underscored his stance against corruption, emphasizing its detrimental impact on programs like TUPAD.
“Every peso stolen from government funds is a peso taken from a struggling Filipino family,” he stated. He promised to champion reforms that promote accountability and safeguard public funds, ensuring assistance reaches those who need it most.
To further inspire hope and community spirit, Singson launched a 58-day raffle campaign. Starting immediately, 58 individuals will win P5,800 daily, leading up to a grand prize of P580,000 on the 58th day.
This initiative reflects his dedication to empowering communities through innovative and inclusive solutions.
As the event concluded, Singson expressed gratitude for the warm reception of the residents of San Pedro.
“This is just the beginning of what we can achieve together. With unity, transparency, and modern solutions, we can bring real change to our country,” he remarked.
The TUPAD payout and raffle initiative underscore Singson’s dedication to grassroots engagement and his vision of a more inclusive, empowered Philippines.
