Insurer releases P3.8 B covering health, life, auto claims nationwide

Etiqa Philippines settled more than P3.8 billion in total claims during 2025, providing financial relief to individual policyholders, families, and commercial clients across the country.
The insurance provider released the funds across multiple categories, including medical treatments, hospitalizations, life insurance policies, and motor vehicle claims. The corporate claims assisted businesses in extending benefits to employees and dependents during emergencies.
The company's health insurance payouts facilitated medical access across its national network, which spans more than 1,200 hospitals and clinics along with 30,000 accredited medical practitioners.
"Insurance is ultimately about helping people through some of the most important moments in their lives," said Anthony Lou Bernabe, president and chief executive officer of Etiqa Philippines. "Every improvement we make, whether in claims, technology, or customer service, is aimed at making that experience easier and more reassuring for our customers."
Bernabe added that meeting settlement obligations remains central to maintaining client trust.
Company leadership pointed to internal risk protocols as the primary driver behind the payout volume.
"Our ability to pay billions in claims reflects not only financial strength but also disciplined risk management," said Raul De Luna, chief financial officer of Etiqa Philippines. "It is proof that Etiqa delivers on its promises and remains resilient for the future."
Operating with nearly 70 years of presence in the country, Etiqa Philippines operates as part of the broader regional network of Maybank Group across Southeast Asia. The insurer stated it will continue focusing on internal operations to streamline claims processing and expand local healthcare partnerships.
