The University of the Philippines (UP), in partnership with the UP Alumni Association (UPAA) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE), recently launched the UP-Job Placement Office (UP-JPO).
This new initiative aims to connect UP students and alumni with meaningful career opportunities by bridging the gap between academia and industry.
During the launch, UP Alumni Regent and UPAA president Robert Aranton stressed the importance of collaboration between academic institutions, industry leaders and government agencies in shaping the future workforce.
“Today marks a significant milestone in our commitment to honor, excellence, and service,” Aranton said.
“The JPO is not just a facility, it is a transformative platform that elevates employment facilitation services for a highly educated demographic. It aligns UP graduates’ academic excellence with meaningful professional opportunities,” he added.
The JPO offers a range of services, including job placement, career counseling, and industry-specific training seminars.
It is also designed to address workforce challenges such as job mismatches and enhance the overall employability of UP graduates.
