Prime Infra, Filipino businessman Enrique K. Razon Jr.’s infrastructure arm, has brighten up several communities with a gift-giving drive and the activation of two solar power plants that can light up an estimated 84,000 homes.
Prime Infra Foundation, the social responsibility arm of Prime Infra, held its Paskong Prime Infra Christmas outreach, giving away food bags to schoolchildren at the Camias Resettlement Elementary School in Porac, Pampanga; Calawis Elementary School in Antipolo City, Rizal on 6 December; KVES Kindergarten in Rodriguez, Rizal on 3 December; and St. Peter of Alcantara College in Barangay Tavera, Pakil, Laguna on 9 December.
Food bags were also distributed to residents of Barangay Calawis on 13 December and to students and teachers of other schools.
Meanwhile, Prime Solar Solutions activated its Tanauan, Batangas and Maragondon, Cavite photovoltaic plants to start its commercial operation and supply of 128 megawatts to Meralco’s grid. Combined, they can power more than 84,000 households and displace more than 100,000 tons of coal annually.
The Tanauan plant successfully connected to the New Milagrosa 115 kV Switching Station on 1 October, while the Maragondon plant linked to the 115 kV TMC-2 substation on 10 October. These connections have enabled the integration of both plants into Meralco’s power grid.
“Reaching this milestone with Prime Solar highlights our ongoing commitment to creating a cleaner, sustainable future. Our investment in renewable energy not only meets immediate needs but also supports long-term growth with environmental sustainability at its core,” Guillaume Lucci, president and CEO of Prime Infra, said.
