The Blackwater Bossing finally snapped its three-game losing skid after a 114-98 win over the Meralco Bolts in the Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner's Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium Thursday evening.
Rookie Sedrick Barefield led the charge with 33 points and nine assists while George King delivered a double-double performance of 32 points and 14 rebounds for the Bossing, who now have a 1-3 win-loss card.
Hours before the game, Barefield got some much-needed motivation from head coach Jeffrey Cariaso.
"Coach told me this morning, he said, ‘Don’t let the past linger.' He told me that he has confidence in me," Barefield said.
"I took that to heart. That kinda just got me prepared for the day, to just leave everything behind us and try to give it our best today."
Chris Newsome scored 21 points as the Bolta absorbed thier first loss in the midseason conference after four games.
