A Navotas City Jail inmate is facing another legal hurdle as a fresh arrest warrant from Sorsogon was served last 9 December.
The warrant, issued by Judge Erwin Fortes Honra of Branch 65 of the Regional Trial Court in Bulan, Sorsogon, charged the inmate identified as alias “Tupe” with murder. The warrant is non-bailable.
The arrest was carried out by members of the District Anti-Carnapping Unit and the District Mobile Force Battalion of the Northern Police District.
“Tupe” is already incarcerated in Navotas City Jail for an undisclosed reason. Police have reached out to the Navotas City Police Station for coordination regarding the new warrant but have yet to receive a response.
In 2017, “Tupe” was involved in a Violence Against Women and Children case, but the charges were eventually dropped.
