Subic Bay Freeport – The Philippine Navy (PN) concluded the unilateral exercises Pagbubuklod, Pagsasama, and Pagsisikap aboard the BRP Tarlac (LD601) while docked at Quay 7 of the Naval Operating Base (NOB) on Friday.
“We were able to achieve our objective,” Fleet Commander Rear Adm. Joe Anthony Orbe said. The official expressed his gratitude to the participants for taking part in the exercise.
The exercise featured a series of rigorous training activities, both on land and at sea, designed to strengthen coordination and improve the operational capabilities and interoperability of participating assets and personnel components of the Philippine Navy, including sailors, marines, aviators, special operators, combat engineers, and reservists.
The highlight of the exercise was the Sea Phase, which involved intricate maneuvers and live-fire drills, showcasing tactical precision and the operational synergy of various naval capabilities, including the newly acquired unmanned aerial system capability.
Key areas of focus included Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR); Over-the-Horizon Targeting (OTHT); Swarming Tactics and Chokepoint Defense; Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW); Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW); Electronic Warfare (EW); Replenishment-At-Sea Approaches (RAS); GUNNEX; Anti-Air Warfare (AAW); Mine Warfare; and Submarine Warfare.
This inaugural conduct of the PN's integrated unilateral exercises marks a significant step toward enhancing the Fleet’s operational readiness and interoperability.
It further underscores the Navy’s commitment to defending national sovereignty and promoting regional stability by integrating traditional naval warfare skills with cutting-edge technology and well-coordinated strategies.
