The local government of Makati City has approved an additional P23.75 million in financial assistance for 46 local government units (LGUs) severely affected by recent typhoons.
The affected areas include those hit by tropical cyclones “Kristine,” “Leon,” “Marce,” “Nika,” “Ofel” and “Pepito.”
According to Makati Mayor Abby Binay, each LGU will receive cash aid ranging from P250,000 to P1 million, depending on the extent of damage and the number of affected families.
‘They need all the help they can get to recover and rebuild.’
“The City of Makati recognizes the continuing need for financial support among localities severely damaged by strong typhoons. They need all the help they can get to recover and rebuild,” Binay said.
Earlier this year, Makati City also provided P51 million in financial assistance to LGUs affected by typhoons “Aghon,” “Butchoy,” “Carina,” “Ferdie,” “Gener,” “Helen,” “Igme,” “Julian” and “Kristine.”
Binay led a ceremonial distribution of the initial batch of the aid on Monday, with representatives from 60 beneficiary LGUs in attendance.
