The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) has reiterated its warning against individuals or groups exploiting the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program to scam unsuspecting victims, particularly overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar issued the warning after receiving reports of scammers promising high returns to OFWs in exchange for “investing” in 4PH housing projects.
“We do not accept investors for 4PH projects. No office or individual, even within DHSUD, is authorized to engage in such transactions,” Secretary Acuzar stated. “This is fake news, or worse, a scam.”
He urged the public to report any suspicious activities or individuals posing as 4PH agents. Those interested in 4PH should only contact DHSUD or their respective local government units for official inquiries.
Secretary Acuzar emphasized that all reports will be treated confidentially, and those behind such scams will face legal action. “We will use the full force of the law against these unscrupulous individuals,” he warned, assuring the public that DHSUD will not tolerate any illegal activities that could undermine the 4PH program’s integrity.
For reporting suspicious activities related to 4PH, the public can contact DHSUD at (02) 8424-4070 or email info@dhsud.gov.ph.
