Unbeaten Las Vegas-based Filipino middleweight Weljon Mindoro stopped Australian Joel Camilleri in four rounds Friday night (Saturday in Manila) in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

Though it was an exhibition match, the scheduled eight-rounder was not fought as such as the two bangers traded power shots up until Mindoro delivered the the crushing blows.

The referee decided that he had seen enough after a right uppercut landed by Mindoro.

Among those in the crowd was eight-division legend Manny Pacquiao, whose promotional outfit — MP Promotions — represents the heavy-handed Mindoro.

Unbeaten in 13 fights against one draw, all of Mindoro’s wins cane by knockout.

Big things are in store for Mindoro as MP Promotions president Sean Gibbons and his son Brendan of Viva Promotions are joining hands in making 2025 a banner year for the Zamboanga del Sur native.

Trained by the well-respected Bobby McRoy, Mindoro has relocated to Las Vegas from the Philippines to enable him to secure regular fights under the watchful eyes of the Gibbons.

No less than Pacquiao awarded the winner’s belt to Mindoro after his demolition of the usually durable Camilleri.
