The city government of Las Piñas welcomed the holiday season with the ceremonial lighting of its Christmas tree at the city hall grounds on Friday, 6 December.
Mayor Imelda Aguilar and Vice Mayor April Aguilar led the event, which was attended by members of the city council, city department heads, and residents from various barangays.
The lady mayor said the annual tradition highlights the city government’s dedication to fostering unity and joy among its citizens.
“This tree lighting is not just about the beautiful lights and decorations; it is a symbol of the spirit that makes Las Piñas truly special. It reminds us of the importance of unity, of coming together as one community to share in the joy of the season and to uplift each other,” Vice Mayor Aguilar said.
Aguilar also called on the community to spread kindness and compassion, especially to those in need, as the holiday season inspires love and generosity.
The event was made even more festive with a heartwarming performance by the Las Piñas Boys Choir, whose angelic voices filled the air with Christmas cheer.
The Christmas tree lighting ceremony marks the start of the city’s holiday festivities, with a series of activities planned by the local government to spread joy and foster unity across the community.
