Cebu City — Senator Christopher "Bong" Go visited Cebu on Friday, 6 December, to check on the situation of fire victims and support their recovery and rebuilding efforts.
At the Mandaue City Sports Complex, Go, along with his Malasakit Team, provided relief assistance to 1,477 fire victims from Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu Cities. The distributed aid included grocery packs, meals, vitamins, shirts, basketballs, and volleyballs. Select recipients also received bicycles, shoes, and mobile phones.
The National Housing Authority (NHA) contributed financial assistance under its Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP), enabling affected families to purchase essential materials to rebuild their homes.
Go’s team also extended similar assistance to fire victims in Cebu City. During his visit, the senator, together with local leaders, emphasized the importance of fire prevention and commended the efforts of the local governments of Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu Cities in helping the victims rebuild their lives.
Later in the day, Go joined the League of Municipalities of the Philippines - Cebu Chapter Year-End General Assembly in Cebu City, wrapping up his visit by reaffirming his commitment to serve Filipinos in need.
