The New Zealand Embassy Manila welcomed 10 Kiwi designers for the Asia New Zealand Foundation’s Young Business Leaders Initiative (YBLI) Fashion Hui, held from 24 to 31 November. The program fostered cultural exchange and collaboration between New Zealand and the Philippines.

The designers began their journey with a courtesy call at the Embassy, where they explored opportunities for collaboration and cultural ties. A waiata performed by Embassy staff highlighted the strong cultural connection between the two nations.

Ambassador Catherine McIntosh hosted a dinner reception at the New Zealand Official Residence on 27 November, bringing together the Kiwi designers and Filipino YBLI alumni to celebrate shared insights and creative excellence.

The week-long immersion culminated on 30 November at Manila International Fashion Week, where the Kiwi designers showcased their innovative creations and engaged with Filipino counterparts, underscoring the unifying power of fashion.
