Thanksgiving is a cherished holiday marked by a spirit of gratitude, gathering of family and friends and feasting.
Traditionally observed on the fourth Thursday, this holiday has deep historical roots, tracing back to early harvest festival and the Pilgrims’ 1621 feast with Native Americans.
At its core, Thanksgiving is about expressing gratitude for the blessings in our lives.
In keeping with our cherished tradition, lovingly upheld for 46 years, the Loops welcomed family and dear friends to an intimate dinner that sparkled with warmth and joy. Friends traveled from afar to join us in this heartwarming festivity. Together we created unforgettable memories, weaving stories and laughter into the fabric of this special occasion.
My eldest brother Edu, along with accomplished architect Carina Sison and marketing expert Bernardo Godinez traveled from Manila. Freddie Alquiros from Baguio, Francisco Serafica crossed the seas from Ormoc and Kameda San arrived from Osaka, Japan.
Sonny and Annabelle Alo.Prior to dinner, we asked each guest to write down what they were thankful for. Majority expressed gratitude for family, good health, peace and happiness. After this exercise, my husband Glenn burned all the wishes hoping that the heavens would receive them, a practice reminiscent of traditions among Native Americans.
Towards the end of the evening, a sense of togetherness deepened, reminding us that the true essence of Thanksgiving lies not just in the feast itself but in the bonds that we nurture and the love we share.
