Officials from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Japanese government formally handed over a Forensic Investigation 3D Laser Scanner to the Philippine National Police Forensic Group during a ceremony at Camp Crame on Friday, 29 November 2024.
The scanner, procured by the UNODC with Japanese support, is expected to revolutionize crime scene investigations by enabling precise 3D documentation and reconstruction. Present at the event were Daniele Marchesi, UNODC Country Manager for the Philippines; PBGen Benjamen DL Sembrano, Director of the PNP Forensic Group; and Koichi Warisawa, Director of the International Safety and Security Cooperation Division of Japan’s Foreign Policy Bureau.Analy Labor
