Police netted a 26-year-old man who was carrying a gun along Lerma Street in Sampaloc, Manila as investigators disclosed that the individual may be a robber preying on passersby in the area.
The Barbosa Police Station PS 14 identified the suspect as Israel Balatucan, who was believed to be a Sputnik Gang member. He was nabbed by authorities last 13 January 2024.
Initial reports disclosed that the duty officer received a call concerning a man who was roaming around Lerma St. acting suspiciously and had a bulging hard material tucked in his waist believed to be an unknown firearm.
Responding cops proceeded to the area and saw the man who fits the description of the telephone report and upon seeing the police, the suspect immediately ran.
A brief chase ensued before the suspect was captured and seized from him was a caliber .38 revolver loaded with two live bullets.
The suspect is now detained at the MPD-PS 14 and will be charged for violation of RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Regulation Act at the Manila City Prosecutors Office.
