Pasig City has set aside over P3 billion from this year’s budget for the upgrading of healthcare services, Vice Mayor Robert “Dodot” Jaworski Jr. disclosed yesterday.

Jaworski said a total of P17 billion was allocated for this year to find solutions to address the problems of Pasigueños.

“Thirty percent of our budget has been earmarked for  healthcare services,” he said in interview at the sidelines of the launching of “Talakayan sa Barangay” at the multi-purpose court of Barangay San Miguel Friday morning.

“This will be used in the upgrading of our hospitals and barangay health centers. We will also hire additional doctors, nurses, and other healthcare personnel,” the vice mayor added.

Jaworski said that close to P2 billion was allocated for education.

The city council, according to him, has institutionalized the educational program, the Pasig City Pag-asa Scholarship Program with 100-percent free education to student-scholars of the city.
