Mandaue City — Police disclosed on Sunday that operatives nabbed an individual believed to be peddling illegal drugs in a sting operation in Mandaue City past midnight last Saturday.
The operation also yielded three kilos of suspected shabu valued at P20.7 million.
Police identified the suspect as Marichu Oyon-Oyon Añura, who was collared by operatives of the Mandaue City Police, Regional Drugs Enforcement Unit and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency during the entrapment operation.
Mandaue Police chief Col. Maribel Getingan narrated that prior to the buy-bust, police conducted covert operations on the suspect, classified as high-value target at the regional level.
She added that the illegal drugs seized from Añura were allegedly intended for major cities Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, Cebu, and other parts of Cebu province.
Meantime Police Regional Office 7 regional director Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin stressed that Añura's arrest is pivotal in the drug supply reduction strategy of the Philippine National Police in the region.
