Filipinos are hoping for a prosperous 2024 following personal struggles in 2023.
Aivin Labrador, a 4th year Philosophy major at Silliman University in Dumaguete City, spent his vacation in Polomolok, South Cotabato, praying in the church for a successful final year as a student.
"I aim to make my academic journey in 2024 highly productive, enabling me to finish my studies and fulfill my parent's dream of seeing me become the first lawyer in our family. As a future lawyer, I aspire to make a positive impact on society," Labrador said.
Labrador added that he is prepared to embrace the new chapter of his life for the upcoming year.
"Despite facing academic challenges in 2023, I am eager to improve my habits and practices this year, demonstrating a willingness to change for the better in the upcoming year. The challenges of 2023 have made me realize the responsibilities that await me as I transition into the professional phase of my life," Labrador stated.
Meanwhile, Joselito Yap, a 32-year-old, security guard, also lit a candle in the church, praying for good health for his family.
"All I wish for my family is good health. With the current situation and rising expenses, falling ill becomes even more costly. That's why I hope that none of us gets sick if it's possible. Additionally, I wish for my children to excel in school, as one of my dreams as a parent is for them to complete their studies,"
