President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday as he urged the Filipinos to find light in their hearts this Yuletide season.
In a social media post, the Chief Executive told the Filipinos to embrace the season's spirit and allow it to reignite love and unity across the nation.
"May the light of Christmas fill our hearts with warmth and hope," the President said, extending a "joyful and blessed" holiday from his family to all Filipinos.
The President posted a photo of his family celebrating the holidays along with his message.
The President had spent Christmas Eve in Malacanang with his family and members of the extended Marcos and Romualdez clans, as First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos posted on her Instagram account.
"Christmas is the perfect time for families to get together," the First Lady wrote in the caption.
The Catholic Chuch likewise reminded the public of the importance of sharing their blessings with those in need as Pinoys swarm churches on Christmas Day.
Many Filipinos arrived early to the Manila Cathedral to attend the 8 a.m. mass, stating that this was also their opportunity to express gratitude for all the blessings they had received in the previous year.
A number of Filipinos also began their day by attending the mass at Quiapo Church as early as 5 a.m.
Amid the festivities, Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula urged Catholics to "be more concrete and specific in our words of gratitude and acts of charity."
"Visit the sick, the elderly and those deprived of liberty; be present to those who are grieving; console the broken-hearted; pray for peace," Advincula said in his Christmas message.
