President Ferdinand Marcos, on Christmas Eve, urged Filipinos to be the "parol (lantern)" that brightens the lives of others this Christmas by showing compassion, empathy, and generosity during the holiday season.
In a video posted on Facebook on Sunday, the President asked the Filipino people to express gratitude as they reflect on all of their blessings from the previous year.
"At this time, we deeply feel all the blessings and fruits of our efforts from the past year," Marcos said.
"Let us always be grateful to the Almighty for all the goodness bestowed upon us," Marcos added.
Marcos also urged Filipinos to embrace the spirit of Christmas as the nation progresses toward a prosperous future.
The President asked the public to open their hearts and share the Christmas spirit with those in need.
"Let us open our hearts and homes to make our fellow countrymen feel love and joy, especially those who are in great need," Marcos said.
In his separate message, Marcos said there is no better way for us to share the gift of Christmas than by spreading hope to those who need it the most this holiday season.
