Kim Chiu, over the weekend, took to Instagram with the above post to announce her split with Xian Lim after they lived together for 12 years.

She said she had to sit on the announcement as they took time to heal and move on before revealing the development to their fans.

"In a relationship, love is always a significant factor, but sometimes love is not enough," said the It's Showtime host.

"We shared more than a decade of love, each other's support system, and many beautiful memories. It was our mutual decision to transition our relationship into what we hope to be a lifelong friendship," she added.

She then thanked all their followers for their support, while imploring them to give them the privacy they crave as they start new chapters in their lives.

"To all our supporters, maraming salamat (thank you very much) for all the love and understanding," she said, thanking her erstwhile partner for the "beautiful memories."

"You will always have a place in my heart. Thank you for showing me what love is," she added.
