Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista and Manila International Airport Authority officer-in-charge Bryan Co conducted an on-the-spot inspection at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.
The spot check was done in line with the Christmas exodus to guarantee the efficient and safe transit of passengers.
The transportation chief urged passengers to go to the airport early, at least four hours from the scheduled time of their flight, and avoid carrying prohibited items to avoid disruption or delay to their flight.
Observing the situation of the passengers queuing at the immigration counter and final security checkpoint, the transport chief expressed satisfaction with the smooth flow of passengers at the airport.
Bautista confirmed that he had already received the appointment letter of Eric Jose Ines as new MIAA Acting General Manager, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
Ines will take his oath next week before Secretary Bautista.
Ines is very qualified to run the airport with his expertise in airport operations, as he became station manager for two Middle East carriers, Gulf Air and Etihad Airways, Bautista said.
