Spreading holiday smiles

The Seda Central Bloc Cebu recently unveiled a Christmas tree adorned with pastel candies, glistening lights and whimsical decorations. The candy-themed sugary and magical fairyland ambiance aims to ignite the childlike wonder within everyone, making the holiday truly special.  

Hands-on general manager Ron Manalang stated that beyond the joy of indulging in these delightful treats, it is important to remember that the spirit of giving shines even brighter during this season. 

Each year, the Seda Hotels proudly joins hands with Smile Train, an international charity committed to providing life-changing cleft surgeries and comprehensive care to those in need.

The general manager likewise briefly shared the hotel's upcoming activities and delectable offers to make the holiday season a time of fun, laughter and mouthwatering delights.

A highlight was the performance of The Sisters of Mary Boys Town Hand Bell Ringers, which brought to life the festive Christmas sounds that captured the spirit of the holiday season.

Tree of Hope

The Marco Polo Plaza also welcomed the festive season, now on its 14th year, with the traditional lighting of the Tree of Hope.

Leading the ceremonial lighting of the Tree of Hope were former Marco Polo Plaza Cebu general manager Roel Constantino and Msgr. Jim Gorre. Joining them were Oliver Amoroso, senior vice president and head of GMA Integrated News, Regional TV & Synergy, and Ann Marie Tan, GMA Central and Eastern Visayas station manager. This collaboration underscores a commitment to making a positive impact on society through meaningful initiatives.

The event has become a cherished symbol of compassion and community support, embodying a collaborative effort with GMA TV Network to fund health, education and disaster relief projects of the Kapuso Foundation.

The ceremony featured enchanting performances by the University of Cebu Chorus setting a harmonious tone for the evening.

The Cebu Centre for Dance added an artistic touch with a mesmerizing Christmas dance presentation, skillfully portraying a world facing uncertainties but thriving in the spirit of joy.

In a flawless transition, the event also saw the presence of the new general manager of Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, Max Huber, who is excited to carry forward the tradition of community engagement and social responsibility.
